How do I check Sim on CNIC?

PTA offers an online verification service that allows you to search for the SIM cards that are listed on your Computerised National Identity Card (CNIC). Following are some suggestions:

Browse the PTA website: Go to the official PTA website dedicated to SIM card verification: PTA SIM Information System: https://cnic.sims.pk/

Enter Your CNIC Number: You will find a field where you can enter your CNIC number on the PTA SIM Information System website. Enter your 13-digit CNIC number in the space- and dash-free format only.

Fill in the captcha code: Fill in the captcha code that is visible on the screen. This typically consists of a string of letters and numbers that is used to confirm that the user is a human.

Select “Submit”: Click the “Submit” or “Check” button once you have typed in your CNIC number and the captcha code.

View SIM Details: Following your submission of the information, the system will show a list of all SIM cards that are linked to your CNIC. This list will contain information like the mobile network provider, SIM card numbers, and the registration date.

Verify and Take Action: Please review the list of SIM cards to ensure that they are all registered by you or are in your possession. If you notice any unauthorized or unknown SIM cards, contact your mobile service provider immediately to report the issue.

NOTE:

Please be aware that the PTA’s online system, which enables you to check the SIMs registered under your CNIC, is only for informational purposes. It is critical to frequently check the information associated with your SIM card to make sure that no unauthorized SIMs have been registered in your name, as this can help prevent abuse or fraud.

How can I register a SIM?

Sim Registration Method No. 1:

Here’s a general guide on how to register a SIM card in Pakistan:

1. Visit a Mobile Service Centre: Locate the nearest service centre or franchise of your mobile service provider (e.g., Jazz, Telenor, Zong, and Ufone).

2. Bring Required Documents: You will need to provide the following documents:

  • Original and photocopy of your computerised national identity card (CNIC) or child registration certificate (CRC) for individuals over 18 years old. You may utilise your B-Form if you are younger than 18.
  • Providing evidence of residency with documents like utility bills (for gas or electricity, for example) or domicile certificates

3. Fill Out the Registration Form: At the service centre, you will be asked to fill out a registration form. Make sure to provide accurate information.

4. Biometric Verification: Your biometric information, such as fingerprints, may be taken to the service center for verification.

5. SIM Activation: After completing the registration process, the service provider will activate your SIM card, and it will be ready for use.

6. Keep a Record: Keep a record of your SIM card details, including the mobile number and the SIM card’s serial number (printed on the SIM card). These details can be useful if there are any problems or if you need to block the SIM in the event of loss or theft.

7. Confirmation: Upon successful registration of your SIM card, you might get an SMS confirmation.

Please keep in mind that the procedure might change slightly based on the mobile service provider and any updates or modifications to governmental regulations.

The best place to go for the most recent information on SIM card registration in Pakistan is your service provider’s official website or customer service.

Be careful and protective of your SIM card and personal information at all times to avoid misuse or unauthorized registration in your name.

Method No. 2 for Sim Registration:

You can take the following actions to make sure the SIM cards are registered under your CNIC in Pakistan:

1. Compose a text message by entering your CNIC number (without hyphens) in the message body. For example, (33101xxxxxxxx).

2. Send this message to the designated number, 668. There are no charges for using this service.

3. Upon sending the message, you will receive a reply detailing the total count of both data and telephony SIM cards registered under your CNIC.

Under current Pakistani regulations, each individual is allowed a maximum of three data SIM cards and five telephony SIM cards registered to their CNIC. Suppose you receive a message indicating the presence of a SIM card you do not recognise. In that case, it is advisable to visit the relevant service centre to rectify the situation and ensure compliance with the law.

How to Check the SIM Registration of the Current Number:

Sending a text message with the keyword “MNP” to the number 667 will allow you to view the registration information for your current SIM card in Pakistan. Please be aware that if you are not enrolled in an SMS plan, fees may still be incurred following your operator’s tariff.

Your mobile number, registration information (such as name and CNIC), the date of activation, and the connection type (prepaid or postpaid) connected to your SIM card are all included in the text message you receive after sending the message. Additional information also includes the activation date.

While this service is primarily intended for individuals considering changing their network providers, it can also be used to verify the registration details of your current SIM card. Avoid forwarding the text message from 667 to any other number to protect the security of your information.
